Position Description:
The Sr. Planning Analyst is a highly visible position that supports Grainger’s vision by providing and maintaining product availability across all of our US branch locations. The Sr. Planning Analyst is a key member of the inventory planning team owning the stocking policy across 400 plus locations and hundreds of thousands of products. In this role we are looking for a strong analytical leader that can work under pressure. The Sr. Planning Analyst will analyze our current inventory and supply chain policies at an operational level, propose actionable improvements to the supply chain leadership up to Director level and lead cross functional teams to implement the proposal. In addition, to strong data analytics capability, the individual in this position will be required to establish strong working relationships within the Inventory Planning team, as well as Transportation, DC Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Customer Service and Product Management teams. Strong written and verbal communication is required as the individual in this role will represent the Inventory Planning Department in cross functional settings.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor degree in analytical discipline (e.g. Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics) required.
Basic understanding of supply chain, managerial finance and statistics concepts required.
3 years in an analyst, planning or similar role required.
Demonstrated experience in consistently executing and improving processes by effectively overseeing tasks at a network level, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated experience in translating vast amounts of data into information, developing a recommended course of action and implementing recommendation to a successful end.

Position Attributes:
Own, execute and standardize current network-wide processes that establish stocking levels per stocking policy (i.e. Product Re-stratification, Stocking Policy, Bill Of Distribution Change) and monitor their performance across key metrics (i.e. availability, stock out rate, back order rate, inventory investment, supply chain cost).
Identify key performance outliers, analyze at network level their root cause and construct, and implement approved recommended corrective actions.
Conduct analysis, propose and present to management business cases to optimize existing stocking policies and supply chain processes around our key metrics. Upon approval, lead small teams to implement and communicate the improvements.
Collaborate and communicate with other Inventory Planning staff (particularly Planning Analysts working in the same immediate area) and cross-functional partners (i.e. Distribution Center Inbound/Outbound Operations, Purchasing, Transportation, Product Management, Sourcing, Customer Service, Market Planning) to maintain, correct and/or improve performance to key metrics.
- Act as a first point of contact for Planning Analysts within the same functional area for business or technical consultation and guidance.
Decisions made by this position would include 1st and some 2nd level review/approval of outputs of stocking processes and decisions regarding handling of outlier correction in accordance with standing stocking policy. Position refers policy exception decisions or significant outlier correction decisions to DC or Branch Inventory Planning Managers and/or Director of Inventory Planning.

This Principal must have a PhD, MBA, and be a US citizen.  They must have a minimum of 10 years broad background experience directly relevant to vaccine/biologics development and the selling and managing consulting services to the public marketplace. The Carrier Development group in the North America Transportation division at OHL is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Transportation Analyst.  In this role, the Transportation Aanlyst will: 1) Monitor and analyze all aspects of Transportation; 2) develop and maintain models for estimating freight rates for OHL clients; 3) utilize MS Excel, MS Access and other reporting applications to develop customized and recurring reports for evaluation of rates quotes or adjustments made by carriers; 4) create and maintain departmental databases to provide necessary reporting; 5) assimilate data from a variety of sources for analysis and appropriate action; 6) proactively implement process and procedural improvements that increase efficiency and eliminate redundancies; and 7) conduct other analysis and special projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer RFQ’s (request for quote) to include generating, distributing, tracking and analyzing carrier documents for client bids.
Able to populate data tables for analysis of carrier rates to review all charges including fuel and assessorial expenses. 
Model data to facilitate fact based decisions.
Able to pull history from multiple systems for analysis and manipulation.
Proficient in scrubbing data for accuracy.
Data preparation and analysis may also include carrier performance and metrics used to manage carriers.
Analyze shipping characteristics along with rates for cost savings opportunities and/or increase in expenses.
Accurate upload carrier rate tables into multiple systems.
Creates and maintains accurate and timely reporting.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
